Do you have an old PC with the operating system Windows XP installed, which you can't disconnect from and would like to be able to format it to try and bring it back to the glories of the past? If the answer is "yes", but if you don't know how to do it because you can't do it using the operating system installation disc, then know that you have come to the right place, or better, in the right guide. Don't worry, everything is very simple, really. Before explaining, step by step, how to format XP without CD, however, it is appropriate to make a small but important clarification.
To date, Windows XP is an operating system now obsolete. In fact, as of , Windows XP no longer receives updates from Microsoft and is therefore exposed to possible serious security risks. So keep this in mind and possibly consider moving to a more updated version of the operating system. Having made this necessary premise, if you are really willing to figure out how to format XP without CD, I invite you to take about half an hour of free time and focus on reading the prompts I am about to provide you.
I am more than sure that in the end you will succeed in your attempt and that you will be able to say very satisfied with it. We bet? Given that the procedure to format XP without CD that I am about to propose will irretrievably delete all the files present on the PC, I first invite you to perform reserve of your data stored in the multimedia station.

After downloading the file for the translation of the program on your PC, open the file by double clicking on it Italian. Then restart ImgBurn and the program will have the interface fully translated into Italian. Now select the article Create an image from a disc from the main ImgBurn window that opens and click on the button representing a yellow folder to choose where save the Windows XP image file.
Then press the icon with the two CDs located at the bottom left and wait for the data copying process to finish. To do this you can use the free program Rufus. To download the software on your PC, click here then click the link Rufus 2. Then start the file rufus If the downloaded file doesn't start, you can remedy it by downloading an older version of the program that you can get by clicking on the item Other versions always attached under the wording Download on the software website.
Now that you finally have the key with the operating system image at your disposal, you can go live and go formatting XP without CD. Then restart your PC without removing the pendrive with the ISO image of the operating system that you just created with Rufus.
Doing this should automatically start the procedure by which you can format the operating system. If you cannot start the pendrive for the installation of the operating system, you probably need to configure the BIOS so that it sees the pendrive inserted in the PC as the reference unit for booting.
If you don't know how to do it, you can read my guide on how to configure the BIOS. Once the procedure to format XP without CD has started, press the button. Now find the partition to be formatted, that is, the one in which install windows xp. Then, move with the directional arrows of the keyboard connected to the PC in the element related to the partition on which to act and start formatting by first pressing the key. At this point, you should see the international and language options window appear on the screen. Then check that the country and keyboard layout are set up correctly and click the button siguiente. Then type your name and your organization's name optional in the appropriate text fields, click once more on siguiente and enter the Windows XP product key to activate the system. If you don't have the product key handy right now, don't worry, you can also enter it later, in the operating system installation terminal.
To postpone the Windows XP activation procedure, first click siguiente y No. After a few moments, you will see a window appear on the PC screen to choose the name to be assigned to the PC within the local network. If you have no particular needs, you can leave the default settings and click siguiente to switch to time zone and network settings. Even in this case, just leave everything as it is and double click siguiente to complete the procedure to format XP without CD.
At this point, the PC will restart once more, after which the Windows XP initial setup procedure will start. Choose whether or not to enable automatic updates for the system even if Windows XP is no longer updated is still the recommended option and configure your username. At this point, you can finally say that you are satisfied. You have successfully completed the procedure to format XP without CD. As a demonstration of this, you should find the default Windows XP desktop ready to greet you on your PC screen.
